Senior UX/UI Designer at Code for Japan
Through my 10+ years of design experience, I contributed to the success of Websites, Digital products, and Civic tech projects. Having the ability to understand the user's perspective through insight and analytical skills, I approach problem-solving with a multi-faceted outlook to deliver innovative solutions. I conduct precise issue analysis, uncover hidden correlations, and create the most effective outcomes that align with the situation. Moreover, I prioritize collaboration to foster outstanding teamwork and unleash creativity.
In 2020, I joined Code for Japan, a civic tech organization that collaborates with local governments to improve community services.
Previously, my experience was limited to profit-driven B2B and B2C product development, making the world of civic tech a refreshing and exciting challenge. Our aim in many cases is to develop inclusive products that appeal to a diverse range of users regardless of age or gender. Moreover, decisions are made collaboratively with input from everyone, rather than restricted to individuals in positions of authority. Through design, I hope to deepen my understanding of the community and society where I live and contribute to its improvement.

After graduating from an art college in Japan with a major in graphic design, I began my career as a web designer. After accumulating four years of experience, I relocated to Vancouver, Canada, where I shifted my focus to UX/UI design and worked on various digital products. Currently, I am an active member of the Code for Japan community, exploring the field of civic tech and seeking opportunities to contribute to society
The Guide for Practitioners in Civic Tech, titled "Don't Build It", was authored by Luke Jordan, Founder and CEO/CTO of Grassroot and the 2021 practitioner-in-residence at MIT GOV/LAB.
As a volunteer member, I assisted with the translation of the guide into Japanese, which is now available on the MIT GOV/LAB website.

During the Code for Japan Summit in 2022, Luke Jordan was invited to deliver the keynote speech. Additionally, he conducted an "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) session where I provided support as an interpreter.
